Not PSG- Wenger’s Top Summer Target Ready To Complete Arsenal Deal

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal are behind Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Julian Draxler, according to reports.

Draxler is a long-time Arsenal target and have been consistently linked with a move to the Emirates in the last couple of transfer windows.

The midfielder has endured a torrid time at Wolfsburg this season and now wants a move away from the club in January with Arsenal reportedly in the race to sign him.

German publication via The Metro claims Paris Saint-Germain are leading the race to sign the winger.

The report claims the French Champions were most interested in the winger last summer and have re ignited their interest ahead of the January transfer window

Last week, Draxler publicly revealed he is open to leaving Wolfsburg in the January transfer window after falling out with his club and it’s fans.

“I don’t think I need to tell anybody what that does to a person — it certainly doesn’t help you,’ he said.

‘There’s no doubt it makes it hard for you to perform on the field.

‘I can understand the fans, though. They have every right to do that. I said in the summer the way I feel and I stand by that.’

Although reports linking the midfielder to the Emirates are strong, I’m not so sure if we actually are interested in his services.

We reportedly made a bid of about £50m for the winger last summer but that is a long time in football and a lot must have changed since then.

Our game against Ludogorets showed our strength in depth in attacking midfield and I don’t think signing another playmaker in January will be our priority.
