Arsenal may have been given a huge boost by Gabriel Barbosa’s agent in its race to sign the Inter Milan forward.

Wenger was interested in signing the Brazil U23 international last summer but he opted to join Inter. He has struggled to adapt to life in the Serie A and is now seeking a move away from the club.

Arsenal are reportedly still interested in signing him and the Emirates is seen as a possible destination for the striker in January.

The player’s agent Wagner Ribeiro has now revealed that the player could push for a move away from Inter in new year.

Rebeiro claims the player is not happy at Inter and wants a quick resolution to his situation.

‘Gabriel is not happy at the moment,’ Wagner Ribeiro told Radio Bandeirantes, as quoted by the Metro.

‘It’s not a case of being in conflict with his team-mates; the problem is that he never gets a chance to play. In January we want the situation resolved.

‘Just before he left, Frank de Boer said there was no problem but now with Pioli the situation is the same. If he doesn’t get a chance to play when his team are 3-0 down to Napoli, when will he get a chance?

‘This possibility exists and he could return to Brazil in 2017, even if that would be seen as a step backwards.

Although Ribeiro didn’t confirm if Arsenal are interested in the striker or not but assuming we are like reports claim, the agent’s comments will be great news to Wenger.

Gabigol is a very talented player and was dubbed the “new Neymar” prior to his move to Inter Milan and if there is any chance that he can realize that potential, then Wenger shouldn’t delay in making a move to sign him.
