According to reports making the round, claims West Ham star man Dimitri Payet claims Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger considers him the missing piece at Arsenal.
Although, previous reports in the British Tabloids reported Wenger have “often” considered bringing the Frenchman to the Emirates stadium and he came closest in achieving that but Wenger opted out to sign Gervinho instead.
Reports in the British Tabloids have frequently reported the West Ham’s playmaker’s future is in doubt despite signing a renewed contract which will see him at West Ham till 2021.
“I read that Wenger considered me as the missing piece of Arsenal’s play, but he said nothing to me,” he told RMC.
“We conceded five or six at home against them recently [a 5-1 home defeat for the Hammers]. When you see them play, as a ball playing footballer, one could only enjoy oneself playing in this team. They are candidates for the title every year.”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed in April he was an admirer of Payet but that he had felt the West Ham man was too “up and down” for his Arsenal side.
“He was a top talent, always, but had periods of being up and down.
“I’ve looked at him many times. I’ve known him for a long time. He played at Saint-Etienne and we watched him many times.”
