La Liga giants Sevilla are lining up an audacious swoop for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, according to reports.

Giroud has been linked with a move away from Arsenal since he lost his place in the starting xi to Alexis Sanchez and the Serie A has been touted as his potential destination.

Although the player has already ruled out a move away from the Emirates in January, he is still being targeted by interested clubs and Sevilla are believed to be one of those clubs.

According to Gunnersphere.com, Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli has drawn up a shortlist of strikers he will like to sign in January and Giroud features prominently on the list.

Giroud has struggled for game time this season and has only managed two starts in all competitions. He is said to be unhappy with his situation and wants to fight his way back into the first team but Sevilla will try to tempt him away from the Emirates in the new year.

Wenger recently said he wants to keep the striker beyond his current contract which expires in 2018 but could be unable to do so beyond this season if the striker’s situation doesn’t change by the end of the campaign.

Giroud has been an ever present figure in Arsenal starting xi since he signed in 2012, scoring 60 league goals since he became a Gunner. He would be a big miss if he leaves because he offers us something different from our other strikers.

I strongly believe a winter move will not be possible but i can’t say same about his long-term future, unless his situation changes before the end of the season.
