Latest Update On €30m Star Player Jet-In To Complete Arsenal Medicals

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal may pass up the chance to sign Wolfsburg playmaker Julian Draxler in January, according to Sport Witness.

Draxler has been consistently linked with a move to Arsenal in the last couple of transfer Windows but Wenger has not been successful in his attempts to bring the midfielder to the Emirates.

Arsenal’s interest in Draxler dates back to his days at Schalke 04 and it was surprising to many Gooners who thought the Emirates would be his next destination when he joined Wolfsburg in 2014.

In the last transfer window, the player was linked with Arsenal again, Wenger was reportedly prepared to pay up to €50m for his services but Wolfsburg were not willing to listen to offers below €75m.

Things have changed now, Draxler has fallen out with Wolfsburg and it’s fans and the club are now prepared to listen to offers for the young man when the winter transfer window opens.

Unsurprisingly, Arsenal are being linked with him again but just like it was last summer, we will face competition from Paris Saint-Germain.

French Publication Le Parisien claims Draxler will be available for as little as €30m.

They claim Arsenal may not even make a move for the midfielder and it is only PSG who have initiated contact with the player’s representatives.

Juventus are also said to be watching the midfielder’s situation with keen interest but PSG are in pole position to sign the player at the moment.

It remains to be seen if Wenger will make a move for the midfielder this winter but it’s very unlikely as the French tactician appears contented with the players at his disposal.

I have always had doubts about a Draxler-Arsenal move happening in January and wouldn’t be surprise if Wenger does pass up the opportunity to sign the playmaker.
