Real Madrid could move for Mesut Ozil if James Rodriguez leaves the Bernabeu, according to reports.
Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Rodriguez who has become disillusioned with life at the Spanish Capital.
The Colombia international has found himself down the pecking order at Madrid and Premier League clubs are looking to lure him away from the Bernabeu.
And Spanish publication Don Balon via The Express claims Madrid could make a move for Ozil if Rodriguez leaves for the Premier League.
Ozil is currently in the middle of contract renewal talks with Arsenal as Wenger looks to keep his star man beyond his current contract which expires in 2018.
The report claims Madrid will look to sign Ozil in the new year if Rodriguez leaves but I think this is almost impossible as Wenger would not want to lose his best player at the middle of a good season, no matter what Madrid are prepared to offer.
Also the last time I checked, the Spanish giants were handed a transfer ban which will prevent them from signing players for the next three windows, so they may not be able to sign Ozil unless their ban is overturned.
Should the unexpected happen and Ozil pushes for a move back to Madrid, we must use the Spanish giants interest in the German to bring Rodriguez to the Emirates.
