Alexis Sanchez Breaks SILENCE About Signing Arsenal Contract Extension

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Alexis Sanchez has revealed that his contract renewal depends on Arsenal and not himself.

The forward has been in talks with Arsenal over a new deal since August but has been unable to reach an agreement with the club.

Reports claim the forward is playing hardball by demanding a salary package well over what Arsenal are prepared to offer but the striker is insistent that the success of the talks is up to those in charge.

He also dismissed notion that he is unhappy at the Emirates by claiming he is happy here and wants to win trophy with this club.

The striker has since been linked with a move to the middle east and reportedly has an offer of about £400,000 from a Chinese club but he has revealed he would prefer to remain at Arsenal and also admitted the club must now show confidence in him.

“I’m focused more on winning football matches – I’m staying concentrated on that,” he told Sky Sports, as quoted by Goal. “It depends on Arsenal.

“It really doesn’t depend on me – if they want to show confidence in me. I’m very happy at the club. I love all the staff. I’m very grateful for everybody here.

“I enjoy the relationship with the fans. I want to achieve more for them. I want to win the Premier League and the Champions League.”

This is getting a bit frustrating for fans who want to see the club keep its best players.

The delay in reaching an agreement has given other clubs who are interested in the Chilean hope that they can sign him and some will start making their move if we do not tie the player down to a new deal as soon as possible.

Gooners do not want a scenario where the club would start losing its best players again and Sanchez renewal will be a huge test for us. Hopefully, we will be successful in keeping the player here.
