Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Paris Saint Germain are set to beat Arsenal to the signature of Wolfsburg star Julian Draxler, according to reports.

Arsenal were said to be preparing a January bid for the German playmaker but we could now lose out to PSG in the race for his signature.

Wenger is a known big fan of the playmaker and tried to sign him several times in the past. It was thought that this would be a perfect opportunity to bring him to the Emirates but that won’t be it as the player has now expressed his desire to move to PSG.

PSG have been battling Arsenal for Draxler’s signature but many thought a move to the Premier League would appeal more to the player but BEIN Sports via The Mirror claims the playmaker has told his compatriot and PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp that he would prefer a move to the French capital.

PSG are now confident of wrapping up a deal in January which will force Arsenal to turn to other targets.

This could be bad news for Gooners not necessarily because Draxler will not be moving to the Emirates but because it could have a big impact on one of our current star’s future.

Mesut Ozil has reportedly demanded Arsenal sign Julian Draxler in January before he signs a contract extension to his current contract which expires in 2018.

While losing out on Draxler won’t be a big blow to us, losing Ozil will be. It remains to be seen whether Wenger will be able to come up with a plan to hijack PSG’s Draxler move or extend Ozil’s contract without signing the Wolfsburg man.

Personally, I do not think we really need to sign Draxler because I have my reservations about him, all I care about is securing Ozil’s future and hopefully we will be able to do that independent on our pursuit of Draxler.
