NO FEAR!! He Will Be At Arsenal Next Season- Wenger Gives FRESH Update

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsene Wenger has revealed he wants Kieran Gibbs to stay at the Emirates amid reports linking the full back with a summer move away from Arsenal.

The defender lost his place in the starting xi to Nacho Monreal a couple of seasons ago and last year, it was claimed that he was frustrated with sitting on the bench and wanted to move away. He was then linked with a move to Liverpool among other clubs in the summer but Wenger reportedly blocked his exit.

With his current deal having just 18 months left to run out and his situation still the same as it was last season, his future has been thrown into doubt again.

The Mirror recently claimed Gibbs future at the Emirates is uncertain because Wenger is yet to offer him a contract extension. They also claimed Wenger has made signing a left back his priority which could spell the end of the English man at the Emirates but the boss has now dismissed those claims, insisting he wants Gibbs to stay at the Emirates.

“As soon as we have some news, we will inform you.”

And Wenger added on Gibbs: “It’s the same case. We cannot make a case of every single contract negotiation.

“Personally I think that Gibbs should stay here.”

Well, I am not sure Wenger means exactly what he said considering we have been constantly linked with a left back for over a year. If he does actually sign a left back, Gibbs future at Arsenal would definitely come to an end.

I think this is a case of respect for the defender who has been with us since he was 15 and it wouldn’t have been a lack of respect for a player who has given his all to the club all these years had Wenger said otherwise.
