Arsenal are set to offer Alexis Sanchez an improved contract after the striker rejected a deal worth £180,000 last week.
Sanchez’s contract renewal have been the main issue surrounding Arsenal this season and Wenger wants to put an end to the constant speculation about the player’s future.
Last week, the Daily Mail reported that the player had rejected a new deal from Arsenal which fell short of his demands.
The deal was said to be £70,000 short of what the player wanted but Arsenal are now set to offer the player a new, improved deal worth more than £200,000 a week, via The Squawka.
Although Arsenal will not meet the player’s demands but the new deal is expected to smash the club’s wage structure and will cross the £200,000 mark for the first time in history.
This is better from Arsenal as it shows that the club is determined to keep hold of its star man. We now hope Sanchez will show he is not purely motivated by the money and sign this new deal with us.
I believe this new offer is a fair deal for both the player and the club. The striker is currently on a £130,000 a week and this new deal will represent more than £70,000 increase to his current salary
I am still confident that we’ll get him to sign a new contract. I think it is only going to be a matter of time before both parties will iron out their differences.
Sanchez is a very important player for us and I do not think the club will let him leave without a strong fight.
