Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to sign Arsene Wenger at the end of the season, according to reports.
Wenger’s long-term future at Arsenal is still unresolved following the boss’ decision to wait until the end of the current campaign before making a decision on his future. His contract expires at the end of the season and Arsenal chiefs tried to extend the manager’s contract last summer but he opted to wait until the end of this campaign.
And the Sun via The Daily Star claims PSG are willing to offer the French man a mammoth deal to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
The report claims Unai Emery is under fire at the French club and should he suffer a Champions League round of 16 exit in the hands of Barcelona next February, he will be axed by the French club.
And PSG want Wenger to join them next summer and are confident they can get a deal done this time around after the boss snubbed them in 2011 and 2013.
Wenger is still very much wanted at Arsenal and club chiefs have prepared a two year extension for him but it remains to be seen if he will opt for a new challenge after spending 20 years here at the Emirates.
And I think there is a big chance that he will remain with us beyond the current campaign as he has already begun planning for next season behind the scenes. The boss has reportedly drawn up a short list of summer targets with Valencia’s Jose Gaya one of his targets. He wouldn’t be focused on our future if he has no plan to remain here.
