Double Done Deal?- Arsenal On January Transfer Deal

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsene Wenger has lined up Atletico Madrid Antoine Greizmann and Borussia Dortmund Marco Reus as replacements to contract rebels Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

Sanchez and Ozil are into the penultimate year of their contracts and as expected, Arsenal are trying to extend their deals but have been unable to come to reach an agreement with the players.

The players are reportedly stalling on extending their contracts and have demanded a huge increase to their current wages which the Gunners are unwilling to pay. Arsenal are expected to continue negotiations with both players and those within the club remain confident that they will extend their contracts but Wenger is not prepared to take any risk.

According to the Daily Star, Wenger has lined up Reus and Greizmann as to replace both Ozil and Sanchez if they refuse to extend their contracts.

Greizmann has established himself as one of Europe’s best strikers in the last couple of years and would definitely be a quality replacement for Sanchez. Reus has also proven he is among Europe’s elite footballers with his performances for BVB and will definitely be a good option to strengthen our attack if we lose Ozil.

However, it will cost us a lot to sign both players and I reckon it could cost us more than £100m to sign the duo. It will be interesting to see if Wenger will be prepared to pay that much to strengthen our squad.

Reus and Greizmann will be dream signings for me but I won’t like to get my hopes too high, knowing Wenger’s history in the transfer market, we may end up not signing any of them.
