Liverpool are interested in signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in January, according to Sky Sports.

Chamberlain is yet to hold down a regular spot in Wenger’s starting xi and the England international is now attracting interest from rival clubs.

Last week, The Daily Mail claimed Manchester City were keeping tabs on the midfielder in a view to making a move for his services in January and Sky Sports now claim Liverpool have joined the race to sign the 23-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp is prepared to submit a huge bid for the winger when the winter transfer window opens on January 1.

Chamberlain’s long term future at Arsenal hangs in the balance. His contract expires at the end of next season and he is yet to be offered a new deal. The winger is yet to complete a full 90 minutes this season could be open to leaving the Emirates if Liverpool offers him better first team opportunities.

However, it is unlikely that Wenger will allow Chamberlain leave in the winter transfer window unless he can sign a replacement. The boss is aiming to win the league title and will not want to risk altering the quality of his squad depth.

Wenger also hates selling players to rival clubs and i’m sure he will refuse to sell Chamberlain to Liverpool mid-season, with both clubs head to head in the title race.

The winger has scored six goals in 23 appearances this season and could play a key role in our title challenge, so selling him to a rival mid-season will be like boosting our rivals hopes of winning the league and I’m sure Wenger will not want that to happen.
