Juventus have asked for the inclusion of Aaron Ramsey in Arsenal’s bid to sign Miralem Pjanic, according to reports.
Yesterday, the Sun reported that Arsenal have made an approach to sign Pjanic after Wenger identified the midfielder as a replacement for Santi Cazorla.
Arsenal have reportedly lined up a £28m bid to sign the midfielder but Calcio Mercato claims Juventus would prefer a swap deal.
The report suggests Juventus could ask for Ramsey in return or make their move for the Wales international if they lose Pjanic.
It was also suggested that a deal may not be completed this winter with a summer switch more likely.
Ramsey was linked with a move to Real Madrid in November and reports suggest he may be open to a move away from the Emirates due to Wenger’s insistence to continuously deploy him out of his favored central midfield position.
Although Ramsey is one of Arsenal’s longest serving players, I wouldn’t mind swapping him for Pjanic. Pjanic has proven he is one of Europe’s best deep-lying playmakers and will be a perfect successor to Cazorla.
Wenger doesn’t seem to trust Ramsey enough to play him as a centre midfielder, usually deploying the Welsh man out wide where he is less effective. So I think having a quality midfielder like Pjanic will improve our squad more compared to continuosly playing Ramsey on the wings. If we can get the former AS Roma man without losing Ramsey, better for us!
