Arsene Wenger wants to sell Mathieu Debuchy this winter after his recent outburst.

Debuchy featured just once for Arsenal in 2016, struggling to force his way back into Wenger starting xi due to injuries and the superb form of Hector Bellerin.

Last week, the defender in an interview with L’Equipe revealed he has a poor relationship with Wenger and that the manager blocked his move to Manchester United last January.

Wenger quickly denied those claims, insisting Man Utd were never interested in the defender and it appears the boss wasn’t pleased with his outburst.

According to the Express, Wenger now wants to sell the defender this winter.

The boss will turn down any loan bid for the defender and will only entertain permanent offers even though he is still recuperating from an hamstring injury.

This is not the first time the defender is taking to the media to hit out at the boss as he did the same shortly after completing a loan move to Bordeaux last January, so I think Wenger’s decision to ship him out permanently is understandable.

According to the report, Wenger is also willing to let Carl Jenkinson leave on loan after the defender failed to impress. The 24 year old could be allowed to leave on loan or permanently.

This will now leave Bellerin as the club’s only recognized right back going into the second half of the season and with the amount of games left to play, having just Bellerin could be dangerous for us.

Wenger recently insisted he doesn’t plan to bring in new faces this month, it remains to be seen if the exit of both Jekinson and Debuchy will force him to bring in a new face.

I believe it will because an injury to Bellerin with no quality back up will weaken our defense a whole lot and in turn derail our title challenge.
