SERIE A STRIKER Heading To Arsenal For Medicals- Reliable Source Confirm

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal are interested in signing Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to reports.

It’s just 14 days into the transfer window and obviously things have been quiet up till now. Arsenal have only brought in non-league starlet Cohen Bramall. The youngster who has been dubbed the next Ashley Cole by Wenger only cost the club around £40,000.

Wenger has now set his sight on another young player with huge potential.

According to the Sun via the Express, Wenger is considering a move for Torino striker Belotti.

The 23-year-old striker is one of Serie A’s best forward this season and Wenger is reportedly keen on bringing him to the Emirates.

According to the report, Arsenal have been following the striker for quite sometime and even have an agreement with Torino for the striker but Wenger doesn’t want to pay the Italians asking price.

A source in Italy told The Sun : “Arsenal have an option for Belotti from Torino, and he is available for 60m Euros.

“That is to get him now before any other teams come in for him, but Arsenal will not pay that amount just yet.

“They will wait to see what happens with him this season, and think about moving for him again in the summer.”

Belotti has scored 25 goals in 51 games since he joined Torino and has scored more Serie A goals that Gonzalo Higuain this season.

At 23, he still has enough time to develop into one of the very best and that could be the reason he is on Arsenal’s radar.

One can’t really say if there is anything concrete from Arsenal’s side at this stage but there is every chance we are keeping tabs on his development ahead of a future move. I do not see Wenger spending huge bucks on a striker this winter especially with Welbeck, Sanchez, Giroud and Perez still at the Emirates.
