Arsenal are monitoring Atletico Madrid striker Antoinne Greizmann in view to making a move next summer, according to reports.
Wenger tried to lure the French striker to the Emirates last summer but failed as Atletico Madrid and the player were not prepared to part company.
Greizmann who later revealed he opted to stay at the Vincente Calderon because of coach Diego Simeone is now said to be open to a move away from the club after Simeone plunged his long-term future into doubt by reducing the lenght of his contract with the Spanish side.
The uncertainty surrounding Simeone future as well as Atletico’s poor form which has seen them fall out of the title race is making Greizmann to consider a move away from the club.
And according to the Metro, Arsenal are interested in signing the French striker.
Manchester United are also believed to be keeping tabs on the player’s situation after Mourinho identified him as Ibrahimovic’s successor.
It is believed both clubs will go head to head in the race to sign the forward next summer.
Greizmann has established himself as one of Europe’s best strikers in recent seasons and will be a great signing for any club but the big question is will Wenger be willing to pay big to sign the striker?
Any bid for Greizmann is likely to equal the £89m Man Utd paid for Pogba last summer and it remains to be seen if Wenger would be willing to pay that much.
Gooners will definitely be excited if Arsenal are able to secure his services as it will go a long way to show our ambition in the transfer market.
It could also help convince the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil who are stalling on signing new contracts to stay at the club.
But will Wenger make it happen?
