Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal are interested in signing Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac, according to reports.

Kolasinac who has been a mainstay in Schalke’s first team since 2012 is nearing the end of his contract at the German club and is being tipped to join a new club this summer.

He has made over 80 league appearances for the German side since he joined, establishing himself as one of Schalke’s best performers and Wenger who has been impressed by the player’s performances now wants him at the Emirates.

According to Tuttomercatoweb via the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger wants Kolasinac to arrive at the Emirates in the summer.

The talented fullback’s contract expires at the end of the season and Wenger is keen to sign him on a free. Talks to sign the player could commence this month as FIFA rules allow the player to sign a pre-contract six months to the end of his contract.

Arsenal have been linked with a host of left backs in recent months and recently completed the signing of Cohen Bramall who is also a left back from non-league side Hernesford town.

The Telegraph has made us believe that Wenger is keen on signing a quality left back in the summer as uncertainty over the futures of Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs continue but I doubt if Kolasinac is that man the club is looking to sign.

I really don’t know how good Kolasinac is but I think Tuttomercatoweb is just matching us up with the defender due to to claims that Wenger would look to sign a player in that position in the summer.
