Dimitri Payet To Arsenal, Star To Be Handed Unique Jersey Number

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Bookmakers Sky Bet believe Arsenal are one of the clubs that would try to sign West Ham star Dimitri Payet this winter transfer window.

Payet has informed West Ham that he doesn’t want to play for them anymore and is looking for an exit despite signing a bumper deal with the Hammers last summer.

Slaven Bilic has reacted by the French man’s demands by leaving him out of his first team squad while the club takes a decision of what to do with the player.

According to Sky Bet via London Football, Arsenal are in the race to sign the playmaker and are placed at an odd of 14/1 to be Payet’s next club.

However, his former club Marseille are favorites to sign him, having had a £20m bid rejected already and the French giants are priced at 11/8 to sign the playmaker.

The Bookies also believe West Ham will be able to keep the midfielder at the London stadium against his wishes and have placed the player at 11/10 to remain at West Ham until the end of the season.

Arsenal being linked with the playmaker doesn’t come as a surprise as this isn’t the first time we are being linked with him.

Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the winger and tried to sign him at Marseille and this could be a good opportunity he wouldn’t like to miss, you never can tell.

But I don’t think this is a move Arsenal should be considering. Although Payet proved he was one of the best in the PL last season, he may not give us maximum value for money.

He is already 29 and would cost more than £30m to prise him away from West Ham which I think is a huge amount of money considering his age.
