I’m Ready To Break The Bank For This Star Madrid Man Wenger Confirms

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal are ready to make a big bid for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports in Spain.

Morata was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the last  transfer window but a move didn’t materialize as Real Madrid were keen to keep him. Wenger subsequently signed Lucas Perez from Depression La Coruna for about £19m.

But Spanish outlet OKDario via the Daily Star claim despite the amount of options Wenger has upfront, Arsenal are still interested in signing Morata and would return for his services at the end of the season.

The report claims Wenger has been monitoring the striker for quite a long time(which we all know about) and they reckon he is still keen on signing him.

Wenger is now lining up a mammoth offer which would be difficult for Real to resist. The report also claimed Morata would be open to a move away from madrid. With the Russia 2018 world cup around the corner, the 24 year old wants to be playing regular football to stand a good chance of being part of Spain’s traveling party.

OK Dario went further to claim Wenger would hand the striker a starting spot at the Emirates if he is successful in bringing him to the Emirates.

Well, I don’t know how true this is but should this happen, Morata would compete with Olivier Grioud who just signed a new deal for a spot in Arsenal’s first team and it is unlikely Wenger would show special preference to the Spaniard ahead of Giroud who has been here since 2012.

I’m not going to get my hopes too high because it is unlikely Wenger would spend big on a striker who is yet to prove he can be a big club’s first choice striker.

The report makes us believe that a spot in the starting xi is certain for Morata, which I doubt. You don’t command a first team spot at a big club by merit but hardwork.
