Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.
Arsenal are interested in signing Freiburg forward Maximilian Philipp, according to reports.
Philipp is highly rated in Germany and has developed into one of the country’s most promising youngster in recent years.
The forward played a key role in his team’s promotion to Germany’s top flight last season and has continued his impressive form this term, scoring five goals and assisted 8 in 15 appearances this season.
His superb performances have alerted top clubs in England and Sport Bild are claiming Arsene Wenger has been impressed by the player’s performances.
The report claims the player would be available for about £3.4m which would be bargain fee considering the player’s potential.
But North London rivals Tottenham are keeping close tabs on the youngster also which could complicate things for us a bit and drive his price upwards.
It does appear that Arsenal’s interest in the young man is serious and i’m sure Gooners will be keen to see the player arrive at the Emirates instead of White Hart Lane.
It is unknown if official contact has been made as at today but the report says we are “on our way” to sealing a deal for the young man.
Arsenal are not expected to make a major signing this month but Phillips wouldn’t fall into that category, meaning a deal could well happen this month.
