Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Real Madrid have stepped up its interest in Arsenal target and FC Porto striker Andre Silva, according to reports.

Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Silva for majority of the season and it has been suggested that Wenger would make a move for the forward in the summer.

Silva has been in superb form this season scoring 15 goals in 25 games so far and his exciting form has caught Madrid’s attention.

Arsenal scouts have monitored Silva in action on several occasions this term but those trips could become fruitless if Madrid beats us to the signing of the Portuguese.

According to Don Balon via the Daily Express, Andre Silva has been added to the Spanish club’s transfer wish list for next summer.

The report claims Madrid sees Silva as an alternative to Dybala who they have been monitoring for quite sometime. Dybala is set to snub Madrid’s advances to stay at Turin, forcing them to turn to Silva.

Madrid’s interest in Silva will come as a big blow to Arsenal, not because we can’t compete with the Spanish side in the transfer market but because their interest will likely drive the player’s price upward.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s relationship with Silva would also complicate things for Arsenal if we decide to rival Madrid for his services.

You see, it’s not going to be an easy deal.

However, this is the sort of competition that we are expected to face as a big club. Top talents don’t come by easily and you have to fight off the fiercest competition to sign talented players.

A potential transfer battle between Madrid and Arsenal will go a long way to show how far we have come since the days when we lost our top players to other clubs.
