Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed he hasn’t given up in signing Carl Jenkinson in the January transfer window.
“Until the chairman rings me up and says the Carl Jenkinson deal is dead, it is still ongoing for me and the same with Patrick van Aanholt,” Allardyce said.
“Until we hear that Sunderland are not selling, we are interested.
“Whether they have got any farther, the chairman will update me later on today or tomorrow.”
Palace boss Sam Allardyce worked with Jenkinson at West Ham two seasons ago and he is keen to bring the defender to selhurst Park this month.
The English defender joined Arsenal from Charlton Athletic in 2011 with so much expectations but he has failed to fulfil his potential here. At 24, a move to a club where he would be playing regularly could help boost his confidence and then help him relaunch his career.
