Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.
Alexis Sanchez’s future is currently one of football’s most discussed topics and there is no day we don’t see a publication on the Chilean’s future.
As we all know, Sanchez has been in talks with Arsenal over a contract extension since August but hasn’t signed a contract extension yet.
There have been claims that the forward is unhappy at the Emirates, following his attitude in the 3-3 draw against Bournemouth earlier this month and then his reaction when he was substituted in last weekend’s 4-0 win against Swansea.
Although the Chilean has denied claims that he is unhappy here, former Gunner and now pundit Stewart Robson believes the attacker will leave the Emirates at the end of the season.
The ex-Gunner believes Sanchez’s relationship with some of his teammates at Arsenal isn’t good and that could play a role in his decision making.
“He’s been in excellent form but I’ve noticed there’s something not quite right about
Alexis Sanchez in recent weeks,” Robson told ESPN, as quoted by the Daily Star.
“Especially in his relationship with one or two other players – particularly Aaron Ramsey.
“When he gives the ball away those two have a little argument with each other.
“Alexis Sanchez, like so many players that are head and shoulders above everyone else in the side, start to get that big ego and that they should be getting better support from other players.
“They start to think they might be better off somewhere else and I can sense that with Sanchez.
“He’s Arsenal’s best player but I don’t think he’ll be at Arsenal come the start of next season.
“I think he wants to go and win the big trophies and that may take him somewhere else.”
Sanchez has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester City already and Gooners will be keen to see Arsenal hold on to its best player.
Robson echoes most Gooners fears as the striker’s continuous delay in extending his contract will put us in a tough position as regards keeping them.
Sanchez recently revealed he is happy at the Emirates, although that doesn’t rule out the possibility of an exit, it gives us hope that he would be here for a long time and I hope that’s the case.
