Arsenal are believed to be one of the numerous clubs interested in Algeria forward Rachid Ghezzal.
Ghezzal has been a key part of Lyon’s first team this season but his future at the French club is in doubt as his contract which expires at the end of the season is yet to be renewed.
The player is not in talks with his club to extend his deal and is now free to enter into negotiations with interested clubs.
According to Sports Witness via dailycannon.com, Arsenal are one of the numerous clubs monitoring the forward.
We were also told that Everton, Monaco, Atletico Madrid are other clubs interested in the forward.
The player reportedly rejected a new deal worth €280,000 in the summer because the French club didn’t give him any sporting guarantee and despite having less than six months left in his contract, talks are yet to be reopened.
It appears his agent is resigned to him leaving Lyon and is actively searching for a new club for the forward
Ghezzal has scored just two goals and provided four assists in 14 league games this season, meaning he isn’t of so much importance to the French giants.
Therefore, I do not think Wenger will be so keen on signing him considering he wouldn’t be better than those we already have in his position. Also at 24, the forward isn’t the kind of young talent we can nurture into a top player. So, I don’t see an Arsenal move happening in any way.
