Carl Jenkinson will no longer move to Selhurst Park after Crystal Palace failed to reach an agreement with Arsenal over the transfer of the defender.
Yesterday, we covered a report where Wenger suggested both clubs have reached an agreement and that a switch to Palace was dependent on the player but it now appears that isn’t the case.
According to the Daily Star, Crystal Palace will no longer sign Jenkinson after both clubs failed to reach an agreement.
The report claims both clubs have now moved on and Jenkinson will remain at the Emirates for the time being.
The fullback is still expected to complete a move away from the Emirates this month after falling down the pecking order at the club.
He has found himself behind Gabriel Paulista at the right back position and has been told that he can leave the club this month.
Jenkinson spent the past two seasons out on loan at West Ham but his second spell was cut short by a serious knee injury which one can say has affected his career. Upon his return from injury, Jenkinson looked like a shadow of himself, a man bereaved of confidence and a move to a club with less spot-light would give him the opportunity to relaunch his career.
With Palace out of the race, it remains to be seen who will now make a move for his services but one thing is sure, staying at the Emirates won’t do the defender any good.
