Sky Sports Reveals Wenger Close To Announce 2nd Signing, Fans Will Be Pleased

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has told Arsene Wenger to do everything possible to extend Alexis Sanchez’s contract.

Arsenal and Sanchez have been in talks over a new deal since the beginning of the season but an agreement is yet to be reached.

The player is reportedly demanding a huge increase to his current deal and while Arsenal are prepared to offer him an improved contract, we are reluctant to meet his demands.

Negotiations have stalled as a result but Redknapp has warned that we must find an agreement with the striker. The former Liverpool midfielder believes Sanchez deserves to earn around £300,000 a week – the figure which the Chilean has reportedly demanded, so we must pay up if we want to keep him here.

“He’s their best player, the one every club would want. His work ethic is second to none, too,” Redknapp told Sky Sports .

“Last week, he got criticism for showing his frustration when he was substituted but that just summed up how much of a winner he is, how much he wants to play.

“Arsenal can’t afford to lose him. On the pitch, he’s their top scorer. Their talisman.

“But off the field, his departure would also send out the wrong message to players Arsenal are trying to sign.

“They want to come to the club because it’s one of the best in the world but also because of players such as Sanchez who are there.

“His exit would give players like Mesut Ozil reason to question whether the club is going in the right direction, too – and an excuse to consider their own future.

“It’s going to be tough for the club because he will be offered some huge deals from around the world, but they need to find a way to tie him down.

“He’s too important for them to let him leave.”

Sanchez has already scored 14 goals this season, establishing himself as one of the key players in our squad.

No doubt, Sanchez is arguably our best player alongside Mesut Ozil but the amount of money he is demanding is well over Arsenal’s wage structure.

The player’s demand if approved will set a new club record and also make the player one of the best paid in England but could have a negative effect in the running of the club. Some reports have already suggested we can’t pay Sanchez and Ozil what they are demanding and also renew the contracts of Wilshere, Chamberlain and Gibbs, which won’t be good for us.

Do you think we should keep Sanchez here at all cost by meeting his demands at the expense of other players? Or maintain our stand until the player reduces his demands?

I personally think if it affects the future of others, there is no need doing it.
