Arsenal will offer Jack Wilshere a new deal, according to the Daily Star.
Wilshere has 18 months left in his Arsenal contract and will have just one year left in his contract when he returns from his loan spell at Bournemouth.
Clubs like Manchester City and Roma are reportedly keeping tabs on the midfielder and are hoping they can tempt him away if Arsenal don’t off him a new contract.
But an Arsenal insider has revealed plans are in place to offer the midfielder a new contract and keep him here fore a long time.
Former Arsenal midfielder and pundit Adrian Clarke, who works as a commentator and analyst for the north London side has revealed Wenger will offer the player a new deal but added that he doesn’t think the player will sign unless he is given assurances over his playing time.
“If he was at Arsenal he would have a very good chance of starting,” he told talkSPORT.
“I think Arsenal will offer him a new contract, I hope they do.
“He will want some assurances form Arsene Wenger that he will be a starter.
“He can’t be a sub, he’s at an age where he has to play.”
It’s going to be difficult to give Wilshere assurances over his playing time considering the midfield position is one with the strongest competition in our squad. A level playing ground for all players will be the best thing and the 24 year old should think of coming back to fight for his place rather than seeking assurances.
