Aston Villa are interested in signing Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom, according to reports.
Akpom who came through the ranks at Arsenal is likely to leave the Emirates on a temporary deal this month, having failed to force his way into Wenger’s starting xi.
The striker spent last season on loan at Hull City where he impressed and his performances for the Tigers persuaded Wenger to give him a chance in the first team squad this season. However, the high competition for places in attack as well as injuries limited his chances of breaking into the team and with the arrival of Danny Welbeck likely to push him further down the pecking order, Wenger is open to the idea of sending the player out on loan.
And according to the Daily Mail via Tribal Football, it is Aston Villa who are working on a deal to take the young striker on loan.
Villa boss Steve Bruce who took the striker to Hull City last season is keen to reunite with the 21 year old as he bid to get his side back to the Premier League.
Akpom has made a handful of appearances for Arsenal this season and will definitely benefit from a move to a club like Villa where he will get the chance to play regularly.
