Breaking News: Wenger Breaks The Ice About Signing This Super Star On Deadline Day

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal will not re-sign ex-Gunner Serge Gnabry, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

Gnabry was sold to Werder Bremen in the summer transfer window and has quickly established himself as a key player in the Bundesliga side. His performances have made him one of Germany’s top flight stars this season and he is now being linked with a move to top European clubs as well as a return to Arsenal.

But Arsene Wenger has ruled out re-signing the midfielder because of the events that happened before his departure.

Last summer, Bayern Munich were seriously interested in signing the midfielder with the hope of loaning him to Bremen but to the surprise of many he was sold straight to Bremen in the final days of the transfer window.

And Wenger thinks Bayern Munich have a hand in the player’s move to Bremen.

Twitter user Simon Collings made this claim on twitter via the Dailycannon.com. He tweeted:

Wenger asked if he is interested in re-signing Gnabry

“No, we sold him to Werder Bremen. At the time it looked like Bayern were behind it”

It is believed Bayern payed for Bremen and if he would be going anywhere else, it would be the Alianz Arena.

Whether Wenger is interested in re-signing Gnabry or not seem to be irrelevant now because the presence of Bayern in the race has made it difficult for us to bring him back.

Wenger always knew the German will turn out to be a great player and that was why he was reluctant to let him leave but we couldn’t convince him to sign a new deal with us.
