Arsene Wenger is serious about re-signing Serge Gnabry, according to Tribal Football.

The winger left Arsenal for Bremen last summer and has already proved his quality, establishing himself as one of Bundesliga’s top players.

The last six month has marked a remarkable rise in the player’s career, becoming a key player for Bremen and making his debut for the Germany national team. He carried his club form to the national team by scoring a hat-trick on his debut.

German publication Bild says Arsenal are seriously considering signing the winger again.

Bayern Munich, Napoli and Leverkusen are also keen on the signing the former Gunner.

Although Gnabry still has a long term contract with Bremen, he has a release clause of about €10m.

However, Bremen are not prepared to sell the midfielder anytime soon and the club chief Frank Baumann is hopeful that they can convince the player to remain with them for a long time to come.

“We will be together with Serge Gnabry in the foreseeable future and talk about the future.

It is important to us that we can convince him above all with sporting arguments.”

The youngster recently refused to rule out a return to the Emirates but the number of clubs interested in his services won’t make it easy for us to complete a deal if he were open to a move away from his current club.

Had a buy back clause been included in his contract, it would have gone a long way to ease our attempt to bring him back but no clause was inserted so we would have to fight off serious competition for his signature as his performances will continue attracting more clubs.
