Paris Saint Germain are lining up a summer swoop for Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

Sanchez is currently stalling on a new contract at Arsenal and this has place his long-term future at the Emirates in doubt. The Chilean’s contract expires at the end of next season but has refused to put pen to paper on a new deal, holding out for a huge increase to his current deal which the club is struggling to meet.

Arsenal still remain in talks with the forward but interested clubs are beginning to watch his situation with keen interest.

According to the Times, PSG are one of the clubs watching Sanchez’s contract situation with keen interest. The French giants want to add another world class striker to their rank to compete with Edisson Cavani and are looking to raid the Premier League.

Top on their wish list is Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero but the report added that the French giants see Sanchez as a more attainable target. It is believed the Chilean will be easier to sign if he doesn’t extend his contract at Arsenal.

Chelsea, Inter Milan and Manchester City are also said to be interested in the forward and could all attempt to sign him this summer.

Sanchez’s current situation at the Emirates is difficult to explain. The media makes us believe that it’s a financial issue but the player has publicly claimed otherwise. It’s difficult to say why a big club like Arsenal is struggling to keep its best players despite being one of the richest in England.

Nevertheless, we as fans can only hope Arsenal find an agreement with the forward as soon as possible because it would be difficult to convince him to stay here if other club’s interests get into his head. I hope it hasn’t.
