LATEST UPDATE: German Attacker To Replace Alexis Sanchez In Summer

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal are prepared to make a huge summer bid for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, according to reports.

Arsene Wenger is a big admirer of the forward and even tried to sign him on several occasions in the past but was unsuccessful in his attempts.

Last week, English tabloid the Daily Express claimed Wenger could make a move for the forward in the next summer transfer window as a replacement to Alexis Sanchez.

And German publication Bild who have strong links in BVB has strengthened the Express claims that Arsenal are eyeing a summer move for the forward.

However, the report claims the forward will not be easy to sign and is expected to cost us at least £60m, £9m more than what was quoted last week.

It is believed Wenger is prepared to spend big to bring the attacker but it remains to be seen if he will be willing to pay up to £60m for the German international.

Also previous reports suggest there is a condition to the deal happening and that’s if Sanchez refuses to sign a new contract with us.

Wenger’s preference remains to keep Sanchez whose contract expires at the end of next season but we may have to sell him if he doesn’t sign a new deal.

Reus will be a perfect replacement for the Chilean but there is no way i don’t think it will be wise spending up to £60m to bring him here.

The Germany international has a poor injury record, it doesn’t make sense to spend such huge amount on a player who is rarely on the pitch.

Although when fit, he is one of the very best there is.
