Latest Update- Arsenal Defender Target Agrees Deal With Club For Summer Move

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

As Roma defender Kostas Manolas has dealt Arsenal’s attempt to sign him a huge blow by agreeing a deal with Inter Milan.

Wenger is a long-time admirer of the Greek international and tried to sign him last summer but Roma rejected a bid of about €40m from us for his services which prompted us to turn our attention to Shkodran Mustafi.

Last week, reports surfaced that Wenger was keeping tabs on the defender again ahead of next summer transfer window but it appears we may miss out on his services after Inter jumped ahead in the race to sign the Greek international.

According to Goal via the Daily Star, Inter have already agreed personal terms with the defender ahead of a summer move.

Although the report added that the Italian club are yet to agree a fee with Inter, it is believed they won’t be put off by Roma’s £40m valuation.

This news will come as a huge blow to Arsenal who were reportedly hoping to sign the defender at the end of the season, after failing to sign him last summer.

Roma are willing to sell the defender now after failing to agree a contract extension with him and will be happy with the numerous interest in his services as it would play into their hands by driving the player’s price higher.

Truthfully speaking, Wenger doesn’t really need to sign a new centre back as we have more than enough options in that position but I can’t really explain why we are still being linked with the Greek international.

It could be that there is no truth in the rumors but we won’t be able to tell until summer.
