Confirmed- Arsenal To Sign Atlanta Man In Summer

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal are among a host of clubs interested in Atlanta youngster Franck Kessie, according to his agent.

Kessie was linked with a move to the Emirates for the majority of the past one year following his emergence at Atlanta. Prior to the just concluded winter transfer window, speculations were rife that Wenger was prepared to launch a January bid for the Cote d’Ivoire international as a replacement for the injured Cazorla but the boss quickly denied those rumours and categorically stated we weren’t interested in the young man.

But Kessie’s agent George Antagana claims otherwise, the midfielder’s representative recently named Arsenal as one of the clubs that have contacted him to inquire about his client.

He also went on to add that we aren’t the only club interested in the 20-year-old midfielder, also mentioning Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United as clubs keeping tabs on the lad.

Antagana is quoted as saying by Arsenal Station:

“We have a lot of interest from the Premier League. Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.

“I cannot say at this stage how much he will cost but we are talking about one of the best young players in the world. But for us the most important thing is that the technical project is the right one for him.”

During the winter transfer window, reports suggested that Chelsea had a £27m bid for the midfielder rejected, a fee which normally I think Atlanta would have accepted for the midfielder, if true.

I don’t think Arsenal are interested in any midfielder for now not even Kessie. It’s more likely that this is the work of Antagana doing his best to drive up interest in his client.
