Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio, according to reports.
Asensio established himself has one of Spain’s most talented youngsters last season but has struggled for relevance in Madrid’s first team this term.
The Plethora of stars at Madrid has seen the winger fall of the radar as he is currently behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Isco and James Rodriguez is Zidane’s pecking order.
Despite his current predicament, his talent and quality is not in doubt. Top clubs in Europe know this and are watching his situation with keen interest.
Manchester United are being credited with the most serious interest in the forward. It appears they have even gone as far as contacting Madrid about the possibility of signing the lad and have been told that it would cost £40m to sign him, according to the Daily Star via the Express.
The report also claims as many as 20 clubs in the continent are monitoring the two-capped Spanish international’s situation including Arsenal and Chelsea.
Asensio is a very talented player, there is no doubt about his quality but the chances of moving to Arsenal is very slim at the moment.
Although the young man could come in and do a great job on our right wing, we would have to sell someone to accommodate him as we currently have more than enough numbers in the attacking midfield position (although the quality is questionable).
It remains to be seen if Wenger would be ruthless in the next transfer window in order to accommodate top players like Asensio. I hope he will be.
