31-year-old Defender To Start Against Sutton United- Starting Line up
Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.
Arsenal will face Sutton United in the FA Cup fifth round tonight and some fans have urged Arsene Wenger to play Mathieu Debuchy.
The Frenchman has recovered from a hamstring injury which has seen him ruled out since November.
The former Newcastle man has just one appearance for the Gunners this season where he started against Bournemouth but was substituted just 16 minutes into the game due to injury problems.
Debuchy was signed from Newcastle back in the summer of 2014, he has managed to make just 23 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners.
Fans have taken to social media to urge Wenger to play the 31-year-old for tonight’s game.
Here is how I expect both managers to line-up tonight
Sutton starting XI: Worne, Amankwaah, Downer, Collins, Spence, Biamou, Eastmond, Bailey, May, Deacon, Gomis
Arsenal starting XI: Ospina; Gabriel, Holding, Mustafi, Gibbs; Elneny, Maitland-Niles; Reine-Adelaide, Iwobi, Perez; Walcott
Here are some of the tweets.
@Big49erAJG expect Xhaka, Elneny to start. Holding and Gabriel, Debuchy and Monreal at the back. Upfront I expect Giroud, Walcott for sure.
@Classorla Ospina; Debuchy, Holding, Mertesacker, Monreal; Elneny, Maitland-Niles; Walcott, Adelaide, Lucas (?); Welbeck. That’s what I’d go
@Arsenal_Hayden Would like to see Debuchy, been a while! Will be similar to that, maybe Walcott rested. Willock to feature too.
Reckon Ospina, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Holding, Nacho, Theo, Ox and Alexis may all start tonight.
Welbeck has already confirmed he won’t be playing. #afc don’t play for another 12 days after tomorrow night’s game.
