Barcelona to make a huge offer for one of Arsenals star players

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Barcelona are still interested in signing Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin following the 4-0 defeat at PSG in the Champions League, according to reports.

Barcelona definitely needs to bring in some new players in the summer, and finding a long term replacement for Dani Alves at right back remains an issue.

Mundo Deportivo note that many of Barca’s current right-sided players, included Andre Gomes and Sergi Roberto, aren’t cutting it, and that’s turned Barca’s focus to Arsenal.

The Spanish giants tried to sign the defender in last summer transfer window but were unable to convince both the player and Arsenal to part ways.

The defender snubbed the interest of his former club to sign a new six-year deal here but it seems that hasn’t deterred the Spanish outfit.

Mundo Deportivo claims Barcelona are still considering a shock swoop for the defender as they scout the market for a new right-back.

It is claimed the Spanish giants know it will be difficult to price Bellerin away from the Emirates, so they are also keeping tabs on other targets.

Bellerin started his career at Barcelona’s La Masia academy before moving to Arsenal in 2011 and the Spanish club’s sporting director Robert Fernandez is keen to lure the 21-year-old back to Spain.

Truthfully speaking, Barca should better focus on their other targets because it will be extremely difficult to convince Wenger to sell Bellerin who is arguably one of our best players. He isn’t even keen on a return to Spain which will make it even more difficult for Barca to lure him away.

The defender has been an ever-present figure in Arsenal’s squad this season and is expected to play a key role in our squad in the future. I know in football nothing is predictable but in this case, there is no chance of a deal happening.
