Star Winger Reveals Arsenal Bid To Sign Him, Deal Could Happen Soon

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Reports in Senegal are claiming Arsenal tried to sign Lazio winger Keita Balde Diao in the last transfer window.

Diao who is still 21 years of age has been a mainstay in Lazio’s first team since he joined them in 2011, making up to 96 appearances for the Italian side already.

He’s been in superb form this term and is now regarded as one of the Italian’s clubs price assets alongside Brazilian wizkid Filipe Anderson.

Although, Anderson is the more popular of the duo, it seems Diao is attracting almost the same interests from Europe’s top side just like his Brazilian counterpart.

Senegalese news outlet Senepeople (The Daily Star) has come up with a surprising piece, claiming Arsenal tried to sign Diao in the just concluded transfer window.

We weren’t the only club mentioned though, the report claims London rivals Chelsea were also in the hunt for the winger’s services.

This is a very surprising piece because this is the first time we are being credited with an interest in the Senegalese.

I haven’t heard of the player’s name before now but after some research, I found out that it is Manchester United who have been predominantly linked with the winger.

Wenger seriously dismissed making any major signings in January which raises doubt the authenticity of this report.

The report claims Lazio value the winger at £26m which would have been classified as a major signing if truly we were interested.

More reports linking the winger with a move to the Emirates is sure to resurface in the coming weeks, i’ll just keep an eye on the forward and follow his progess but for now I don’t think he is one of our targets.
