Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to reports.

The Polish midfielder has been impressive for Napoli this season and is attracting the interest of a number of top clubs.

Paris Saint Germain and Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the midfielder all season but according to Transfermarketweb.com via the Daily Star, Arsenal have joined them in scouting the midfielder.

Zielinski has been one of Napoli’s best players this season and has scored three goals as well as providing six assists for his teammates.

The midfielder has spent just one year at Napoli and could well be on the move to a bigger club if he continues his impressive form.

Arsenal have been linked with a host of centre midfielders in recent months despite the numerous options we have in that position already.

Wenger has struggled to find a consistent midfield partnership this season due to injuries.

Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla have struggled to stay fit this season due to injuries while Granit Xhaka and Mohammed Elneny missed majority of January due to suspension and international duties respectively. Again, Wilshere’s future is currently in doubt as some reports claim he could be sold when he returns from his Bournemouth loan spell at the end of the season.

So it shouldn’t be surprising if Wenger is actually interested in signing a midfielder but someone would have to leave for that to happen.

It will be interesting to find out who will pay the price for Wenger to strengthen the midfield this summer. Maybe Ramsey, who knows?
