Jens Lehmann has warned Arsenal not to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Hart is currently on loan at Torino, with his long-term future at City in serious doubt.
Arsenal were linked with the goalkeeper last weeks, with reports claiming Wenger is eyeing him as a replacement for Petr Cech but Lehmann has warned that Hart won’t be a good signing for us.
The report had claimed Arsenal were lining up a £15m bid for the goalie who was forced out of City at the beginning of the season by Pep Guardiola. The Spanish tactician claimed the 29-year-old doesn’t fit into his philosophy and was subsequently sent to Torino where he has impressed so far.
But when asked whether he would advise Wenger to make a move for Hart, the former Germany goalkeeper replied: “No.”
“I wouldn’t. Petr Cech is not too old. He’s maturing.
“Dropping him for the Bayern Munich game is a decision I don’t understand.”
Lehmann was Arsenal’s goalkeeper between 2003 and 2008, making 148 league appearances within that period. He also spent a short spell in 2011 and made just one league appearance before he retired.
The former Germany international didn’t give any reason why we shouldn’t sign Hart but i’m on his side on this issue.
