This Star Man Will Leave Arsenal Immediately Wenger Announce A Done Deal For Star Man

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas believes Jack Wilshere will leave the Emirates this summer if Mesut Ozil extends his contract.

Wilshere joined AFC Bournemouth on loan last summer to the surprise of many due to the high level of competition for midfield places at the Emirates.

So far he has given a good account of himself at the Dean Court but there have been talks about his future in the last few weeks.

Reports claim the midfielder is unsure if he should return to the Emirates where there is so much competition for midfield places and could leave for another club who would offer him regular playing time.

Nicholas has now revealed his take on the issue and the former Gunner believes it is only Ozil who would stop the midfielder from playing regularly at Arsenal. He thinks Wilshere will move to another club if Ozil agrees to sign a new long term contract with Arsenal.

“He’ll leave if Ozil commits,” Nicholas told Sky Sports, as quoted by the Daily Star.

“That, obviously, is a big ‘if’ right now though.

“He’s done well in a tough position at Bournemouth and quite a few of big clubs will be interested.

Nicholas also revealed he would prefer Wilshere to remain at the Emirates if there is any chance of Arsenal getting a huge fee from the sale of Ozil.

“I personally would want him to stay if they got the right money for Ozil.”

I believe most Gooners would prefer the club to keep both players.

Wilshere is a big talent who mustn’t be allowed to leave the Emirates, I will like to think Wenger already has a plan on ground to convince the midfielder to sign an extension with us regardless of whether Ozil stays or not. A big club must be able to keep all of its best players, so I don’t see any reason why Ozil has to leave for Wilshere.
