Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo, according to reports.
Murillo has been one of the numerous players behind his club’s superb form this year where they have won one of their last 10 games and reports in Columbia claim he is attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.
According to the report via the Sun, Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid are all keeping tabs on the defender in view to making a move in the summer transfer window.
The defender was linked with a move to the Emirates last summer when Wenger was actively in search of a centre back but a move didn’t materialise and we opted to sign Shkodran Mustafi.
With our title challenge on the verge of collapse, we have been linked with a host of top players who are expected to strengthen us ahead of next season and Murillo has now joined the list.
Anyone who watched at our last UCL game against Bayern Munich where we collapsed after Koscielny was withdrawn due to injury can be forgiven to think we need a solid defender to compete with Koscielny and Mustafi. Murillo will be a great option to compete with the duo if he keeps up his current level of performance but Inter would fight to keep him at the San Siro.
We’ll have to wait until the summer to find out what happens with Murillo but I reckon it will be almost impossible to sign him.
