Arsenal are set to open talks with Napoli to sign Lorenzo Insigne, according to reports.
The Gunners are believed to be big admirers of the winger who has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the past.
And according to a report in the Daily Express, Arsenal are preparing a summer move for the 25 year old. Insigne’s future at Napoli is currently in doubt and could be on his way out of the club.
The winger who currently earns about £30,000 a week is holding out for a new deal of about £80,000 weekly but his club are reluctant to meet his demands.
Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has now revealed via Twitter that Arsenal are set to take advantage of the winger’s contractual situation.
“#Arsenal is set to open talks with Napoli for Lorenzo #Insigne, Schira tweeted.
The journalist also claimed out scouts were present at Napoli’s game against Chievo on Sunday to watch the forward.
“Gunners scouts have watched him yesterday against Chievo #transfers #AFC,” she added.
It is believed that Napoli would demand £44m for the winger whose contract expires in 2019 if they are forced to sell.
Although Insigne is a very quality player, I doubt if Arsenal are really interested in his services. We seem to be more concerned about resolving the future of Wenger, Ozil and Sanchez. I think the links the Insigne is the work of his representative who is keen to get the best deal for his client from Napoli.
