Arsene Wenger Shows No Sign He Will EXIT The Emirates Stadium In Summer

Arsenal striker Lucas Perez believes Arsene Wenger is prepared to remain at the Emirates beyond the current campaign.

Wenger’s contract expires at the end of this season and he is yet to decide whether he’ll sign a new deal or not. Despite calls from all sections of the club for him to make a decision on his future, Wenger is insisting he wants to wait until April before deciding on his next step.

This has reportedly placed his future in serious doubt with reports claiming Arsenal have already begun searching for his replacements.

However, Perez insists Wenger isn’t showing any sign that he will leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

“It’s normal that after the defeat to Bayern there were criticisms,” Perez said on Cadena Cope following the win over Sutton, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

“At the moment he does not transmit us the idea that he is going to leave, but we do not know what’s going on in his mind.

“He is very excited about this season. He is calm.”

“He has been here for a long time and has a lot of experience. He will know what is best for the club and for him.”

Wenger has always insisted he will remain committed until the last day and it is no surprise that he is taking each day as it comes.

However, I don’t think Wenger would leave Arsenal at the end of the season. His decision to wait until the end of the season is a tactic to reduce the amount of criticism channelled towards him. He did same in 2014 where he signed a new contract after our FA cup triumph against Hull City.

Obviously, winning a major title will play a role in his decision making but I believe he’d still manage us for a season at least even if we don’t win a title this year.
