Everton have joined AC Milan in the race to sign Arsenal’s Lucas Perez, according to reports.
The Spanish striker completed a £17m move to Arsenal last summer but life at the Emirates hasn’t gone as he expected, He has struggled for game time since his summer move, only managing to start nine games across all competitions.
The former Deportivo La Coruna man was expected to play a key role in Arsenal’s title challenge this season but has found himself behind Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order.
He is now being linked with a move away from the club and according to the Daily Mail via Football Insider, Everton and Milan are set to go head to head in the race to sign the Spaniard.
The Italian club was the first to be linked with the striker and it was claimed they are preparing a £17m move for his services but Everton have now joined the race to sign him.
The Toffees were on the verge of signing the striker last August before Arsenal swooped for his services and going by this report, it is obvious that they still hold an interest in the striker.
Perez has definitely helped his cause by scoring seven goals and providing five assists despite his limited game time. He obviously deserves to be given more chances at Arsenal but should that not happen before the end of the season, there will be no shortage of offers for his services.
