Hector Bellerin could join Barcelona this summer despite signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal in November.

The 21-year-old has developed into one of Europe’s best defenders since breaking into Arsenal’s first team in 2014 and he was one of the most sought after footballers last summer.

Barcelona, Manchester City and PSG were all linked with the Spaniard but Arsenal were able to resist all attempts to prise him away.

Not long ago, the defender signed a new six and a half year deal at the Emirates but that hasn’t deterred Barcelona who are still showing interest in him.

The Spanish giants have made signing a right back their priority and Bellerin tops their wish list.

According to the Guardian via the Daily Star, Bellerin would be open to a move back to Nou Camp where he began his career if Arsene Wenger leaves the Emirates this summer.

Wenger’s future at Arsenal is currently in doubt because he is yet to extend his current deal which expires at the end of this season.

Fans have turned against the French tactician and last week’s 5-1 defeat in the hands of Bayern Munich increased the pressure on him, prompting reports suggesting he could step down when his contract expires.

It’s becoming more obvious that Wenger’s exit will be a big blow to us if he leaves. Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil had already claimed they won’t make a decision on their future until Wenger’s is resolved and now Bellerin has tied his Arsenal future to that of the boss too.

Right now, i’m all for Wenger staying as his exit could spark a mass exodus of our best players which could lead to a total collapse for us as a club.
