Alexis Sanchez will leave Arsenal at the end of the season, according to a club staff via a report in The Express.

The striker’s contract expires at the end of next season and is yet to sign a new deal.

Reports claim the Chile international has doubts about Arsenal’s ambition to challenge for titles, hence wants to keep his options open until the end of the season.

More than five clubs have been linked with the striker and it appears his representative is sending signals to all interested clubs that he could leave the Emirates this summer.

According to the Times, Arsenal are already resigned to losing its star man. An Arsenal staff told young Gooners on tour at the Emirates last week that Sanchez will leave at the end of the season.

Alexis Sanchez has been Arsenal’s main man this season, scoring 17 league goals but the Chilean believes his teammates don’t have enough ambitions to challenge for major titles. In January, reports claimed the striker was furious at his teammates for celebrating Arsenal’s third goal in a disappointing 3-3 draw with Bournmouth instead of restarting play quickly to chase a winner and he was also reportedly unhappy with them after the 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich a fortnight ago.

The Chile international had previously stressed his desire to win trophies with Arsenal but it seems he is giving up on the club already.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can convince him to change his mind and stay amid the numerous interests he is already attracting from other top clubs but any hope of doing that could also depend on whether Wenger stays or not.
