Arsenal are planning to make a summer move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa, according to reports in France via The Daily Express.
French publication Sport Mediaset claims Arsenal are interested in signing a left back this summer. Nacho Monreal is already 31 and Gibbs is yet to stake a claim for a regular spot in Wenger’s first team, so the club is looking to bring in an upgrade to both players at the end of the season.
The report claims Arsenal have made Kurzawa it’s priority target and will pursue a move for the 24-year-old. A deal to sign the French man will not be dependent on Wenger’s future because the club is prepared to complete the move whether the boss stays or not.
Arsenal are prepared to spend up to £17m on the full back but that may not be enough to tempt PSG into selling the player as he is still contracted to them for the next three years.
Kurzawa has made 20 league one appearances for his club this season and is gradually becoming a first team regular at PSG after being under the shadow of Brazilian veteran Maxwell last season. He could now be tempted to stay with the French club for at least next season with the hope that he would become a full-time regular at the Parc des Princes.
Should PSG decide to sell, Arsenal shouldn’t hesitate to go all out for the defender even though he may cost us more than what we are budgeting for.
