Arsenal are interested in signing Malaga starlet Pablo Fornas, according to Football Insider.
Arsenal scouts in Spain have been watching Fornas for quite some time and have been impressed with his performances.
The 21-year-old has contributed to six of Malaga’s goals this season, having played 20 games and has won many plaudits with his contributions.
His fine form over the last year caught the eye of former Spain boss Vincente Del Bosque who handed him his international debut in May.
He has continued to impress and the Marca claims Arsenal are now serious about signing the midfielder.
Fornas plays as an attacking midfielder but he is equally adept to playing in a deeper role and has impressed in both position for his team this season.
According to the report, the midfielder has a release clause between £8.5m and £10.2m which wouldn’t be a problem for Arsenal.
Considering his talent, Fornas could be an ideal replacement for Santi Cazorla who is getting closer to the end of his playing career as he turns 33 later this year. The Spaniard has hardly featured for us this season due to injuries and Fornas could be his ideal successor as both players have almost the same style of play.
Fornas has shown in a big league like La Liga that he has the quality to play on the biggest stage, he could become a bargain signing for us if he is really available for the fee being quoted.
